In the Business of Business Cards

I have just been looking back at the evolution of my business cards, that have somewhat contributed to creation of my off-net social networks.

I started this craft in 2007, fresh from High School, then I used to be called a Computer Specialist. This is a point where you want to say something like ‘Tumetoka Mbali’ (wish you had a look at what I was offering or best put, wished to offer. And the Yahoo email address, call them the days of ignorance)

Then in 2008/9, I switched to this one here, I realized we’ve people called Developers and I could as well be one of them ;-) And we also needed to change our name from iTech2020 to Deveint after the government short-changed me on the then Vision2020!

After my under-grads, I thought I was sick enough to be a Consultantso I created this. Actually this is what tries best to describe what I actually do.

Recently, I tried to upgrade my Deveint business card to this one:

Sometimes, I also wear the hat of a GDG Lead, BTW, all developers in Nairobi are welcome to our GDG, go to www.gdgnairobi.info, lot’s of good stuff coming!

That’s part of my journey, I’m still on the pilgrimage. I’m gonna do this until the Lord calls me home.

My Talk to @sci_uon CS Freshmen 2012

Again, I got a second chance to speak to SCI Computer Science Freshmen 2012. Here is my presentation, this time less flashy but richer in content I guess :). I must admit it’s an honor, thanks SCI for the chance.

I’ll love to get some feedback from the freshmen. Feel free to send me mail or comment on this blog-post.

See my 2011 talk on the same.

Fresh From Campus (pt.1)

Thanks be to the Almighty God, I’m now through with my undergraduate, I cleared at the end of May. I feel so much ready to face the world now!

As I mentioned earlier, I’m not a blogger, so I write less and do more :-) Please come back to this blog later (where later can mean anything from 1 – ∞ days), I’ll be talking about:

  • If I was to go back, what will I do differently, though I have no regrets at all!
  • Criticisms on our education system and what I think is the way forward
  • My plans after school but not forgetting this.

*NOTE: I do most of my sharing on my Google+ profile :-)
